Feedback Week Thread!

Hi folks,

we think the Icinga Community feeling is a pretty strong one.
Each and every member of the community is very much appreciated, especially the ones that are frequently helping to find answers to any question, people have.
Thank you for that – for the questions and the answers.

You have each other’s backs and that’s awesome to see! We would like to return the favour.
How, what and when? You’ll find out soon.

Stay tuned!

What kind of modules would you like to see in the future?

Leave a comment to let us know!

Do you have a favourite module?
The jira module. Unfortunately, there happened nothing new for a long time (@tgelf ? ^^)

What kind of modules would you like to see in the future?
Some kind of syncing configs between 2 icingaweb instances. It is nice, to have a built in config sync in icinga cores, but synicng 2 icingaweb configs is just pain.

Btw, is there already a documentation for migration from IDO to Icingadb?

Wow, I actually wasn’t aware that there was a Jira module! I just checked and yea, there hasn’t been much activity - one merged PR a month ago but it looks pretty dormant at the moment

A good way of synching config would be config management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible and the like.
Since Icinga Web is pretty much exclusively configured in files this is actually rather easy to do, imho

About the migration to Icinga DB: I’m afraid I have to disappoint you on this front - we are working on it at the moment.
There are two ways that we’re looking into we could go with, but so far we have not decided which one to take. I’ll poke the devs to write an update about it soon
