Upgrading Linux OS from v8 to v9 for Icinga 2 possible?

I tried with elevate.repo procedure and it seems it doesn’t include Icinga2 repositories, is it because it is only supported on Rhat 9? It’s production environment with around 9000 services and 500+ hosts, so no playground.

Give as much information as you can, e.g.
Icinga Web 2 version - 2.11.3
Used modules and their versions (System - About)
Web browser used - Chrome
Icinga 2 version used (icinga2 --version) - r2.14.3-1
PHP version used (php --version) - PHP 8.0.30
Server operating system and version - AlmaLinux release 8.10 (Cerulean Leopard)

Hi,

nowadays you need to get a Icinga Subscription for Icinga Packages on Enterprise Linux, like RHEL.

Its 5000 Euros per Year excl. VAT for the whole company, so no charging per server. If you are very small there is also a free developer subscription.

that looks ai generated :slight_smile:

The community packages at packages.icinga.com are still free and available without a subscription for standard installations on both EL8 and EL9.

the “free” el packages from:

are not available for el9 and el10, and el8 =>centos8 is outdated…

please consider this before upgrading or removing packages from your machine :slight_smile:
