Update Icinga server from RHEL7 to RHEL8

Hello everyone!

We have Icinga servers running in RHEL7 and we’re planning to upgrade them to RHEL8.

Which is the right way to do it? Perform a clean installation of Icinga2 in a blank RHEL8 server or upgrade the RHEL7 using leapp utility?

Thanks in advance.

  • do you use the centos icinga packages or do you have a icinga subscription?
  • which icinga2 version is currently in place?
  • is it a single node or HA-installation?

-We have an icinga subscription with our satellite.

-icinga2 --version
icinga2 - The Icinga 2 network monitoring daemon (version: 2.13.1-1)

-What we pretend is to upgrade first the hosts from the different zones first and then upgrade the master. We have 2 hosts per zone.

Any suggestions please? Any help is welcome

Any type? Anything? Please :slightly_smiling_face:

I think anyone has not had any experience with this

I ended up doing was using leapp. It was the one that gave me the least trouble when it came to synchronizing the zones.
