NSClient++ Detected crash - Service not started, not restarting

Hi!

If I install the Icinga2-Agent using the PowerShell module, I receive this error:

Notice: Trying to remove NSClient++ service

I’ve two questions:

  1. Is this a known problem?
  2. The current version of NSClient++ is 0.5.2.35 (Jan 2018) while Icinga 2.10.5 ships 0.5.0.62 (Apr 2016). Is this on purpose?

PS: Since I upgraded it manually to 0.5.2.35, I do not get new crash-dumps like before.
Tested on Windows 10 (1903).

Hi,

we only bundle fully tested versions, and for a very long time there was no stable 0.5.2.x tree. The new API isn’t available either, so a version bump was on low priority. It will be included in 2.11 since other users asked as well. https://github.com/Icinga/icinga2/issues?utf8=✓&q=is%3Aclosed+milestone%3A2.11.0+nsclient

Cheers,
Michael
