No plugins after icinga2 installation

Hi all,

I recently migrated Icinga2 from an old server running CentOS 6 to a new server running Oracle Linux 8.1. As part of the migration, I performed an SQL dump from the old server and restored it on the new one. I also transferred the necessary files.

However, after running a check, I noticed that the /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/ directory is almost empty. I reviewed the documentation and followed all the installation steps correctly, but the plugins seem to be missing.

Could you please guide me on how to install all the required plugins?

Icinga Versions:

  • Icinga2: r2.14.3-1
  • Icinga Web 2: 2.9.5

Thanks,
Dani

Did you install Nagios-plugins or monitoring-plugins?

Icinga does not provide these plugins. You need to install nagios plugins packages from Oracle Linux.

I think Oracle does not package them. At least I believe to remember that from the last time I had a question around Oracle Linux.

good possible… I havent worked with any OL Installations recently. However, if they dont package the plugins i would try installing a build for other variants of EL9: https://pkgs.org/search/?q=nagios-plugins-all
