MySQL or PostgreSQL?

Hello, I have a question related to the use of MySQL and PostgreSQL: reading the docs and regarding the Icinga DB history, it seems that MySQL is the preferred choice of the Icinga developers.

Is it recommended to use PostgreSQL with Icinga DB or is it better to use MySQL as it seems to me that it’s the database that is preferred by the team?

We don’t want to end up using PostgreSQL if it benefits from less updates and support than MySQL in future updates, but maybe I’m completely wrong, that’s why I’m asking this here :slight_smile:

In theory, either database should work, but in practice we recommend using MariaDB because it is the most widely used database in the wild when it comes to Icinga.
