Monitor Citrix Terminal Server

Hi,

I would like to monitor 20 Citrix terminal servers with Icinga 2. We have a master image that we maintain, the master image is distributed over 20 terminal servers.
Each terminal server only has read access to the hard disk.

My try:
I have installed Icinga2 Agent on the master image and monitor the server. Then I ran the icinga agent wizard on the TS3 and registered the terminal server with a new token.
Then I added the TS3 with the director, but I get an error message.

Remote Icinga instance ‘NT-TS03.domäne.local’ is not connected to ‘icinga’

even though I created a new token…

Anyone can help?

Icinga 2.4.1
Director 1.7.2
Terminalserver 2016

Best Regards

I really think Icinga running on a machine with a read-only hard disk is not
going to work.

You’ll probably have to rely on Service Checks over SSH, I think.

Hi, thanks for answer Pooh.

I will try this! Thanks!

Had the same idea a while back.

Afaik monitoring terminal servers that are “cloned” from a master image can’t be monitored with the icinga agent, as the agent will have to be installed on the master server, but then the names will differ if the agent is running on the cloned servers. Hope that makes sense.

In the end I switched to using snmp and/or nsclient (not sure atm…)

This is pretty much outdated and no longer supported at all.
