Missing init file after installation

Hello, I installed Icinga2 on RHEL 8 server, but after installation the init script /etc/init.d/icinga2 is missing. According docu it should be in icinga2-common package, I have this package installed. What could be the problem?

Hi,

RHEL 8/CentOS 8 uses systemd as init system. You can find the the systemd unit file here: /usr/lib/systemd/system/icinga2.service. If you want to override settings or enable a automatic restart from a recoverable crash you can create the file /etc/systemd/system/icinga2.service.d/override.conf.

Have a look here for more details: https://icinga.com/docs/icinga2/latest/doc/15-troubleshooting/#systemd-watchdog

Best regards
