MAIL.RC replacement in Ubuntu

Hi Community Members,
I have been using Icinga from last 2 years, thanks for the wonderful contribution to society.
Previousy I had installed icinga on centos and was using mail.rc to send the notifications to email, but as we know centos is dead and now I am using ubuntu as a base os for icinga. Now the problem I am facing is that we know mail.rc does not work in ubuntu, so is there any way to send the icinga host status notifications to email. If yes then please guide through the steps, many thanks

Regards
Mastermind

The package bsd-mailx in Ubuntu has mail.rc.

Personally, I would sugggest using s-nail though, on both CentOS (with EPEL) and Ubuntu. Pretty much the same but has, among other things, “customhdr” which is useful for avoiding mail bounces.
