Hi,
i have never evaluated logfiles on icinga and wanted to ask, what is the best way to evaluate a logfile on a remote host, at “interface disconnected” it should draw a 1 or 2 service state and send a notification?
thanks in advance

That strikes me as an odd thing to check using a log file analysis.
I would use a network monitoring plugin such as:
https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Network-Connections%2C-Stats-
and-Bandwidth/Check-Interfaces-Operational-Status/details
or
https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/System-Metrics/Networking/Check-
Ethernet-2DInterface/details
(the first one looks better to me at a quick glance).
If those aren’t suitable for what you need, let us know in what way and we
might be able to suggest an alternative.
Out of interest, which log file were you planning to monitor, and for what
information?
PS: I don’t really think this belongs in the “Icinga Web 2” category…)

Antony.
