Hello everyone. I would like to ask a question here. Im currently trying to install Icinga on a Server with Ubuntu 18.04 (we know its outdated, itll get upgraded soon). Not too long ago I installed Icinga on a 20.04 Server. But trying to do wget -O icinga-archive-keyring.deb "https://packages.icinga.com/icinga-archive-keyring_latest+ubuntu$( . /etc/os-release; echo "$VERSION_ID" ).deb" returns nothing, only trying 22.04 gives me the file. Have 18.04 and 20.04 removed? I cant find any information regarding that.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Hello and thanks for posting.
Since both Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 have reached their EOL, we are no longer building packages for these distributions. Sorry.
Alright, thank you. I just wanted to ask because I couldnt find any info and wasnt 100% sure if the issue was on my end or some mistake happened. We will get to upgrading soon then.
No problem, thanks for asking.
I am a bit unsure if this is stated anywhere, but in general we are stopping to build packages after a distribution goes EOL as this would just increase the maintenance burden on our side.
So, what does “grep VERSION_ID /etc/os-release” show you on that machine?
Antony.
18.04, as already mentioned above. Its already solved, I just couldnt find the info anywhere on if this is an issue with our Server, or icinga had a failed build that nobody noticed or something, thats why I asked if 18.04 and 20.04 have been removed. They have, and now we know to update.
I still think, you should ask an arm and a leg for the access to a repository containing the packages for the releases in legacy support and/or enjoying support by tuxcare.
