Instruction step by step notification

Hello best community,
I have problem with finding a guide for creating email notification for my Icinga2 server.
Do you have any idea where I can find such tutorial for beginners. Or is it if someone here writes the tutorial, so that all can learn from it. Thank you very much

What is the problem you are encountering?

The default Icinga2 installation includes basic notification scripts which send
out emails for host alerts and service alerts. Many people like to enhance or
replace these, but they do the job to begin with.

I wonder:

  1. Have you set up Icinga2 notifications for the host & service checks you
would like to receive emails for?

  2. Can the machine which is running Icinga2 actually send out emails of any
sort at all, independently of icinga2?

Maybe you could give us some details of the system you’re working on and this
will help people to point you in the right direction:

a) which distribution are you running (I’m assuming you’re using Linux)?

b) how did you install Icinga2 (compiled from source, installed as package, if
as a package, which repository did you use)?

c) what you you see in /var/log/icinga/icinga2.log when a host or service
check is expected to send out a notification?

Antony.
