IcingaDB Installation on Distributed Setups for Satellites?

Hello,

we are currently planning a migration from Icinga IDO to IcingaDB on our distributed setup with two masters and 6 satellites.
Will an IcingaDB installation also be necessary on the satellites or is this only needed on both masters?
If IcingaDB also needs to be installed on the satellites, do they also need the icingadb-redis package?

Hi @michel_w,
I am going to make some assumptions first:

  • IcingaWeb2 ist only in use in the master zone
  • Satellites do not have a web interface

Is this correct?

In this scenario you should install icingadb and icingadb-redis on both master machines only.

Your assumptions are totally correct, this is what we also thought.
So only icinga2 on the satellites and no changes at all are necessary on them, gotcha!
