How to migrate nagios config to icinga2 and how to implement nrpe plugin?
Hi & welcome to the icinga community,
I’d never try to do a real migration (for which you can find some tips here) but create from scratch. The are major changes between V1 respective nagios and V2 e.g.:
- complete new DSL e.g. apply rules
- Distributed monitoring
- Director
Doing a migration will most properly result in much less functionality.
We also decided to no longer use NRPE and replace it with icinga’s agents especially for improved security.
