Graphite with icingadb

I’m stucked in installing Graphite for Icinga…
I installed a new icinga server from scratch and used the new icingadb feature.
I finally get icinga and icingaweb installed with icinga director integration… perfect.
Now I wanted to install the graphite feature and modules…
I installed all the graphite service (carbon core, web and api) and enabled the graphite feature
The metrics are written to carbon as I can see it in the graphite browser
I installed the graphite module for icingaweb2, but here begins the trouble…
When I enabled the graphite module it reports, that the monitoring module is missing. This module is missing because I used icingadb as database backend…
So what is the best way to use graphite with icingadb and icingaweb2?

  • Icinga Web 2 version 2.11.2
  • Used modules and their versions (System - About) graphite, monitoring, director, incubator icingadb
  • Web browser used Chrome
  • Icinga 2 version used : r2.13.6-1
  • PHP version used (php --version) 7.4.3
  • Server operating system and version : Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

do you get an error or are you unable to enable the graphite module?

There was a blog post yesterday, that the new version of the graphite module now works without the monitoring module:

Icinga Web Graphite Integration v1.2.2

  • Graphs are displayed again even if the monitoring module is not installed

Though the mentioned version v1.2.2 is not “visible” in the release history you should be able to update with a git fetch -t ; git checkout v1.2.2

thank you for this info…
I can confirm, that graphite module 1.2.2 could now be loaded without monitoring module running
Currently my graphs are still empty I Have to check what this can be…
I can see the graphs in the graphite browser but not in icingaweb2
