Cannot install Icinga

So I am trying to install Icinga using the Icinga2-snapshot-x86_64.msi install file. When It gets to the end, a popup appears stating “There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.” I am on Windows 10 and I am the system administrator.
Does anyone know why this problem is occurring and how to get around it?

That’s the bleeding edge agent. Have you tried the stable 2.11.2 package to see if you get the same error?

I did not see 2.11.2 on the downloads list. I tried another version 2.3.9 and it said I did not have permissions to run it. Then it disappeared from my downloads folder. The same thing happened with other older versions. I am doing this logged in as administrator too.

That is a really old version (3½ years). There’s no point in going back to
that

Tell us what you downloaded (filename) where you downloaded it from (URL), what
command you ran to get this error, and precisely (copy-n-paste) what the error
message was.

Then it disappeared from my downloads folder.

Okay…

I think you need to tell us precisely what you are doing (basically, enough
detail that we could reproduce the situation ourselves) in order for us to
understand what might be happening here.

You can get a current version of the Windows Agent installer from
https://packages.icinga.com/windows/

I don’t recommend considering anything earlier than 2.10

Antony.
