I noticed threads poppig up under latest and if I open them I see no new content.
Current example:

@theFeu something for the admin to look into?

Recently, we are getting more and more spam replies on older threads by newly created users. In the mentioned thread, a newly created user posted a semi-reasonable answer with a link to some shady webpage. While these posts look fine on a first glance, they are SEO spam - LLM output, if I had to guess.

As I have deleted the post and banned the user, the thread still had a recent activity and will stay on top of the topic list.

I was suspecting something like this.
Maybe there’s a feature to rewrite the threads history on delete by admin or a request to Discourse, for it, could be in order.

Alvar explained the reason perfectly.
I’ll have a look if discourse themselves have anything to solve this 🙂
