this is what i receive on the master icinga trying to reach the satellite…
any ideas what the potential issue could be?

Well, that can be many.
- Network issues
- Icinga not running on the satellite
- Icinga running on the satellite but fails to connect due to a wrong certificate
Please have a look at /var/log/icinga2/icinga2.log. There should be a more detailed message about the connection to the satellite.
Also it is always helpful to share insights about your system (os, versions used, setup in general (HA? How many satellites/agents?)
