Firstly, instead of saying “I tried to add the command_endpoint but it just
shows errors”, it would be good to show us how and where you tried to add the
setting, and also the exact message of the errors.

Secondly, add “command_endpoint = host.name” to your Service check definition.

I think we are talking about something different. I don’t have an agent or a satellite. I want to check in general the uptime of all my Host Obejcts. I do it with ncpa uptime but ncpa is not running on every machine. I thought I can do it with the check_uptime file but it seems like its not the check i am looking for.

I’m not familiar with NCPA, but if you don’t have something running on
whatever the device is that you want to check (Icinga, SNMP, NRPE, SSH, etc)
then I don’t see a way of getting information from it.
