Hello,
i was trying to setup AD authentication on icingaweb2, but i cant seem to bypass the icingaweb\_db auth, in other words i would like to **only** authenticate through AD.
this is what i get

 ![image](https://community.icinga.com/uploads/default/original/2X/2/2992ddc5cc824395c915c454863062c7c6025672.png)

i tried changing the order for both entries in my `authenticantion.ini` and `resources.ini` , or even commenting the one i don’t need, but that doesnt seem like the way to go about this.

Is there a way to disable the DB authentication or something of that sort?
**thanks a lot for any help.**

Hi there,

you should take a look at the [external authentication backend type](https://icinga.com/docs/icinga-web-2/latest/doc/05-Authentication/#external-authentication).
